Public Health, Made Fun!
Ashley is deeply passionate about advancing community health and developing innovative solutions to complex public health challenges. She’s especially drawn to work that bridges individual experiences with community-level change, creating programs that are practical, responsive, and designed to make a meaningful impact. Her experience spans public health program development, infectious diseases including HIV and HCV, emerging drug trends, and justice related work. She is committed to building collaborative, community-centered approaches that translate research and evidence into meaningful action.
She graduated with her Doctorate in Public Health in early 2026 from the Medical College of Wisconsin and met Lia in her DrPH program.
Her current research includes evaluating advanced drug checking programs and the intersectionality of public health, public safety, and harm reduction strategies.
She lives in the Broomfield, Colorado area but enjoys traveling, rock climbing, sunshine, and camping (in Utah). She has two snuggly cats and is always up for a good road trip (literally always).

Lia is a Population Health Specialist with over 15 years of experience in public health, specializing in prevention and community health improvement. Lia works closely with physicians to ensure that patients receive routine screenings, vaccines, and other preventive care services critical to improving long-term health outcomes.
Lia’s research has included immigrant health, health literacy, and both qualitative and quantitative research methods. She is heavily focused on the experiences of Latinx immigrant communities, particularly how Latinx individuals manage chronic diseases, such as hypertension. Her work also examines the psychological experiences and healthcare navigation challenges individuals face throughout their immigration journey.
Lia graduated with her Doctorate in Public Health in 2025 from the Medical College of Wisconsin.
In her free time, Lia enjoys traveling internationally, reading, and hanging out with her dog, Frida. She is also passionate about volunteering in her local Philadelphia communities.
